Daniel smiled politely.

“I’m here for the private auction.”

She looked at the guest list.

Her expression changed.

“I don't see your name.”

Daniel opened his folder.

“I believe there may be a mistake.”

Before he could explain further, a man in a perfectly tailored gray suit approached.

His name was Richard Coleman, the museum's event director.

Richard had spent months preparing the auction. To him, appearances were everything. He believed wealthy guests should immediately look wealthy.

And Daniel did not.

Richard looked at the older man, then at the expensive crowd around him.

“Is there a problem here?”

The receptionist quietly replied:

“He says he’s attending the auction, but his name isn't showing.”

Richard glanced at Daniel's simple clothing.
