Then one student whispered:
“Who is he?”
Nobody knew.
Ryan stepped forward.
“Master Lee, who is this?”
Master Lee looked at Daniel.
Then smiled.
“This is Daniel Carter.”
Ryan waited.
Nothing.
He expected a famous name.
A champion.
Someone impressive.
Instead, Master Lee said:
“He was one of the greatest karate masters of his generation.”
The students reacted.
Ryan raised an eyebrow.
“Really?”
Daniel smiled.
“I was younger once.”
A few students laughed.
Ryan looked at his simple uniform.
“You don't look like a champion.”
The room became uncomfortable.
Master Lee immediately looked at him.
“Ryan.”
But Daniel simply smiled.
“That’s okay.”
Ryan continued.
“I mean no disrespect.”
But his tone suggested otherwise.
“I just think skills should be proven.”
Daniel looked at him calmly.
“And you believe I should prove mine?”
Ryan shrugged.
“If you want.”
Several students stopped training.
Everyone understood what was happening.
