CHAPTER 9 — THE APOLOGY THAT CHANGED EVERYTHING

The next morning, Damien arrived before everyone else.

The students were surprised.

They expected him to be angry.

Instead, he walked toward Henry.

"Mr. Carter."

Henry looked up.

"Yes?"

Damien stood quietly for a moment.

Then said:

"I'm sorry."

Henry smiled.

"For what?"

"For making assumptions."

He looked around the dojo.

"I saw your uniform and thought I knew your story."

Henry nodded.

"Most people do."

Damien continued.

"I thought being strong meant proving everyone else was weaker."

"And now?"

Damien smiled.

"Now I think strength means knowing you can still learn."

From that day forward, Damien changed.

He still trained.

He still competed.

He still won fights.

But something was different.

He stopped looking down on beginners.

He stopped laughing at people who weren't famous.

He stopped believing a person's value came from their appearance.

Because the person who taught him the biggest lesson…

was the person everyone ignored.

CHAPTER 10 — THE LESSON THE DOJO NEVER FORGOT

Months later, a reporter visited Titan Combat Academy.

They wanted to interview Damien about his career.

The interviewer asked:

"You have defeated dozens of fighters. Who was your toughest opponent?"
