Nobody wanted to challenge him.
Because Damien had created something powerful.
A reputation.
And sometimes reputation becomes heavier than reality.
One afternoon, after finishing another sparring session, Damien stood in the center of the dojo.
His opponent was exhausted.
Damien wasn't even breathing heavily.
The students applauded.
Damien smiled.
"Anyone else?"
Nobody moved.
Then his eyes traveled toward the corner.
Henry was cleaning the edge of the mat.
Damien laughed.
"What about him?"
The room turned.
Several students immediately laughed.
"The janitor?"
Damien shrugged.
"Why not?"
Henry continued wiping the floor.
He didn't react.
That bothered Damien.
Most people reacted when he spoke.
They became nervous.
They became impressed.
Henry simply continued working.
Damien walked closer.
"Hey, Mr. Henry."
Henry looked up.
"Yes?"
Damien smiled.
"One easy round."
Henry looked confused.
"Excuse me?"
Damien pointed toward the mat.
"Come on. Everyone wants to see."
A few students laughed.
Henry looked around.
The entire room was watching.
Not because they respected him.
Because they expected entertainment.
CHAPTER 3 — “YOU PROMISE NOT TO CRY?”
Henry slowly placed the cleaning cloth down.
He didn't look angry.
